Well, personally I think that all books that encourage children to laugh, have fun, or enjoy themselves should be banned! Why, take Giggler Treatment by Roddy Doyle. Horrible! P.A.B.B.I.S. was worried about flatulence ;)
How about some terrible books on evil caregivers? Terrible orphans that use their brains to narrowly escape trouble? Try reading the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.
(Gee, guess what I do for a living - corrupting America's youth!)

On P.A.B.B.I.S.
In light of this story, now would be a good time to introduce you to P.A.B.B.I.S. (Parents Against Bad Books In Schools). Now, I personally am all for bad books, but I guess Valley of the Dolls is not what these parents are against.
For example, P.A.B.B.I.S. is upset that books like Shogun and Like Water for Chocolate are being taught to high school students.
In another example, P.A.B.B.I.S. opposes Robert Cormier books because he sometimes lets loose a fart reference. More specifically, they have issues with I Am the Cheese because of a storyline about an anti-government plot.
The P.A.B.B.I.S. bad book list is available at http://www.sibbap.org (Schools In Books Bad Against Parents?). It details all the objectional parts of each book they're against, which means your kids can skip all the boring parts of Beloved and get right to the good stuff.

Okay - I'm signed on and ready to corrupt children and youth of America. My current choice is run out and buy Love and Sex, edited by Michael Cart. Place it prominently in the YA area and see what happens.
Peace and blessings.

Welcome to L.A.C.K.
Welcome to the L.A.C.K. (Librarians Are Corrupting Kids) home page. The purpose of this Web site is, well, to corrupt your kids. More specifically, the librarian(s) posting to this blog will keep your kids updated on books that have been banned/burned/deemed inappropriate all around the world. Also, we will be posting articles related to various topics that get lefty librarians all hot and bothered, such as internet filters in public libraries.
That's L.A.C.K.'s initial purpose, anyway. Like all things on the Web, it'll probably evolve into a strange perversion of its original intent. Of course, since that may involve BSDM librarian erotica, it might not be all bad.
